One of the things I love is getting to know my couples. Pre “C”, we would meet for coffee and hang out and look at albums and talk through their dreams for their day. During “C” a lot of things were booked online site unseen. I hadn’t met Tegan & Tayler before their wedding day. That is SUPER rare! We usually at least have an engagement session beforehand if not the meet up as well. Their circumstances changed from me shooting a part day wedding to full-day coverage but it was after they no longer needed engagement pictures. No matter what though, I give them a questionnaire to fill out to get to know them even better and to have all their information in one location to keep me organized! Well….I had read their questionnaire several times and for a while thought that they work in the restaurant industry! Ha! They said they met at WINGS! I thought that was a restaurant. LOL! Oh my! Nope! I had to put two and two together with Tegan’s email address and the questionnaire to finally get it. I’m SO glad to get to meet with my couples in advance again! :)
Tegan & Tayler had a beautiful June day to celebrate their wedding at Pondview Farm! It couldn’t have been better! The guys got ready in the grooms room and put on amazing handmade Magic the Gathering Boutineers. The girls got ready in the gorgeous bridal room, hair by Susan from The Chandelier Suite and make-up provided by Tanya from Glow with Dej. While the girls got ready, my assistant Alyssa and I swooned over the incredible WOOD and preserved flowers that made up the bouquets! Zoom in on the bride’s bouquet…I’m not sure you could tell that they are not real, fresh flowers! I was in awe the creator CarolinaRosaDesigns Forever Floral on Etsy.
The ceremony site, as the day progressed, got covered in wonderful shade, creating beautiful light - it’s such a perfect spot. The reception area inside the barn and outside was beautiful with fun games that many guests enjoyed! There was plenty of space for the caterers: Route 47/Route 65 Pub & Grub Food & Alcohol Catering & the coolest wedding reception dinner EVER - Pizza from the Brick Oven Bus. Yes, that says bus! Check out the photo of the brick oven INSIDE the bus! :) I tried to get a photo of the guys before everyone ate but they were very busy! Afterward when they were exhausted, they were able to come on out for a quick picture.
I was super excited (more than normal) for this wedding! Tegan sent me an email in advance with this list:
There will be a Zelda shield hanging on the wood arbor we are getting married under that represents us.
After they pronounce us man and wife there will be light sabers under some chairs for people to hold up and us walk under
The boutonnieres the boys are wearing will be made of Magic the Gathering cards. A game we play with our friends.
There will be a memorial table with pictures of my grandparents and my best friend who passed away.
We like watching The Office so I am secretly putting our wedding rings in jello like Jim puts Dwights stuff in
Dinner will be served by the Brick Oven Bus
I pretty much geeked out about the lightsabers especially since my family are huge Star Wars fans! And just one ring was in jello. It was pretty funny! And Tegan’s vows were very much saturated with quotes from the Office and more. They were very fun yet still super meaningful! The added “Up” Adventure jar was an amazing idea as well! Tegan…are you sure you shouldn’t be an event planner? ;)
Be sure to watch the progression of photos with the cake cutting…I think they had agreed to keep it clean but then Tegan popped some frosting on Tayler’s nose and then she RAN! She must have known he would try to get her back and all of a sudden Tayler is throwing cake at her!
The ceremony music/sound and reception dancing was great with music provided by Pro Sound & Lights. And several couples took advantage of the amazing sunset over the pond!
