Wisconsin raised, Minnesota bound

Generally I have answers from the questionnaire that I give my couples to fill me in on their story that I use for the blog post…or during an in-person consultation I get to hear the full story and I take notes. Somehow, I think because of the weirdness of the past 7 months and distance and because I’ve known these two for about 7 or 8 years and photographed Kamie for her senior photos, her family for a portrait session and her younger brother for his senior session that we just knew we’d be fine together. When I looked at their details tonight again this is the answer to the question: How and when did you meet?….”Neither of us really remember when we first met. However, I (the groom) remember meeting Kamie at youth group on a Wednesday night.” I’m sure they told me on one of our engagement sessions but I’m going to ask for a reminder! ;)

I do know that they both grew up in the same town, in the same church, and in the same school district though one was home schooled. Their families are big and they’ve known each other for years.

They have persevered through the ups and downs of the past few months of all the unknowns and the regulations and changing with Covid-19. It’s been a ride! We had originally planned a downtown Minneapolis (Mill City Museum / Stone Arch) engagement session back in April but the Twin Cities were “closed” to people. We did finally get our city session just in September and it was incredible! I’m so glad they persevered!

Kamie and Collin are a sweet, gentle, sensitive yet strong couple who love the Lord and love people. They had a wonderfully fun and beautiful wedding party. The weather really was wonderful even though windy and a bit chilly during the early afternoon. Their team of decorators and people who helped them pull off a reception in a gym was phenomenal!

As you’ll see from the photos below, they had a sweet First Look and a fun time with their photos! There was letter reading, a tender and sweet “reveal” of the bride to her dad on the bridge and then the guys were cracking everyone up! We even found the sun on the beach! Wowsers!

Congratulations you two! I’m SO honored and blessed to be a part of your story! It’s been a blast having all this time with and all this history of photos between us! I loved it all! I’m praying for you as you begin this amazing adventure called marriage—it’s awesome! I trust you’ll keep Jesus at the center and I’m so glad, Collin, that you won’t watch the next episode in a show’s series without your bride and that you’ll kill the spiders even if they scare you more than they scare her! <3 I’m so excited for you both!
